Importance of graphics card

hello.

planning on making switch mac. been having lot of media work coming in , pc holding me back. i'm looking @ imac in perticular. need mac for;

video editing (most demanding thing mac needed for). i'll using premiere pro , after effects (and rest of adobe cs5.5 production premium). i'm not world's advanced editor have lot of work coming in , want learn pretty advanced side of video editing (think music videos , commercial adverts/documentories).

needed audio recording (not intending demanding band has mac pro based in recording studio main legwork), , reasonably intense photo editing. these 2 requirements i'm not taking consideration (so far) excpect video editing main thing need cater specswise.

question this...

thinking going 21.5 imac (has advantage of being pretty portable - concievably small flight case , able mobile - , cheaper). thing worried me though small graphics ram (512mb).

wont playing games machine, how important graphics card video work?

whether go 21.5 or 27 imac...i i7 chip , 16gb ram third party.

away graphics card when start using premiere , after effects reasonably advanced tasks???

(with reply please bear in mind. see written, doing serious media work...'get tricked 27 machine, it'll pay itself'. bear in mind in mind. im pretty serious photographer, videographer, sound engineer , bass player. money tight!!! needs money invested in it..........)

also planning on dual screening current cheap screen. 512mb graphics acrd able hack it?

i can't that's kind of work on imac (specs in signature) , runs fine. more vram never hurts; it'll make render times less , such, it's not major thing worried (at least in experience)
