Use HDMI / Airplay video while on other apps

hi, think question pretty self-explanatory. know if there way continue stream video tv via hdmi adapter or airplay while being able browse web, check other apps, etc? or mirroring - mirroring?

don't have ipad, can't answer myself.

while haven't tried hdmi yet, can send youtube videos apple tv, close youtube , browse in safari. quite surprised when worked
