Extract a printer driver?

okay, lion, i'm sure have old printers don't work anymore.

have hp officejet g55, , doesn't work lion.

however, have old macbook running leopard, , works fine. solution have right plug in macbook g55, turn on printer sharing, , mac running lion able add printer , print when it's shared. says has "officejet g55" driver.

dilemma can't print when plug printer lion mac, lion has *some* driver works in order send info leopard computer , print way. there way extract driver lion using shared printer , install it?

lion sends print file on leopard generic print document printing. leopard machine formats , handles printing. windows can similar things. way printer doesn't need installed on remote machine, server machine.

lion doesn't have print drivers printer. it's doing printing virtual printer sending virtual page leopard printed virtual page onto physical printer.
