drove me wall of yesterday , still couldn't find solution. here might able offer help. problem iphoto can't see itunes library , therefore won't allow me add own music when making slideshow.

that's see when open music settings. searching net has trawled more questions answers closest thing useful this thread on apple support boards, although quite old dealing earlier versions of iphoto.
feeling problem might stem them fact itunes library stored on external hard drive still can't find work around. i'm on os x 10.7.3
i've tried multiple versions of iphoto 8 right 9.2.2. i've checked , repaired permissions. i've made sure i'm opening itunes , iphoto in correct order. i've tried creating new itunes library on internal hard drive, still unrecognizable. i've tried trick remove itunes .xml , .itl files reimport xml , reset things.
none of above have worked , i'm running out of ideas. if has input i'd grateful help.
so figured out work around. sketchy since never use iphoto , 1 off relative's wedding anniversary it'll do. found example music file iphoto uses default in ken burns slideshow , replaced different song of same file name.
