Wouldn't let me return/exchange and Under my 14day return

i wanted exchange ipad3 today 1 bc screen's top 1/3 has pink hue. 1 apple store went going let me exchange out of model wanted. 32g verizon.

went nearby apple store did have 1 in stock. show them receipt , tells me apple genius has @ before can return it. tell i'm under 14 days , show receipt. argues me , says yours opened. genius said screens vary. wtf. wouldn't let me exchange.

since i'm under 14 days, should technically able return if want! i'll have wait until trusted apple store gets more in stock. grrr
