i'm not sure need, please bear me , can advice here.
run small production company , i'm dp (cameraman).
shoot lot hd footage, 1080, 4k , 5k i'm starting fill lot of hard drives.
need somewhere store footage, , ideally should able have access everywhere can download clips if needed.
can't public without permission.
has fast enough can edit when i'm @ office, nas won't do.
editing station mac pro, able hook macbookpro when needed.
limitations:
cost issue extent , macs dont have thunderbolt yet.
solution suggest?
1 thought crossed mind, have nas secon unit serving both , unit access files remotely in addition faster storage editing, ideally able access fast unit remotely.
mini server need, or cold macpro serve server editing machine? (guess use lot of electricity if has on)
assuming you're connecting office in first place you're still going have pass data through network connection, suggesting nas in fact work fine you.
