How to install osx on a brand new HDD?

hey,
guess it's been covered here before, couldn't find it.
want replace current macbook's hdd ssd. want take opportunity , start fresh osx installation (i've accumulated junk on years). i'm not worried hardware part, software.
after booting new drive, happen? how able install lion on new blank un-formatted drive?
