Running Mac mini through Macbook

i'm using 2008 macbook , i'm finish college i'm looking upgrade. however, money running short i'm looking cheapest option now.
until i've been able video editing/ photoshop on college computers i'm going need powerful enough computer able word these programmes. can't desktop because i'm looking @ jobs abroad well.
wondering if use existing macbook , run mac mini through it? or better off spending , getting macbook pro?

 

you can use screen sharing, many flavors of vnc, or apple's remote desktop app (mac app store) control computer (mac mini example) laptop. however, think find unacceptable video editing there bit of lag. if need portability & power mbp better option.
