Dead USB on MacBook Pro?

i have 15" macbook pro late '07 - '08 bought pc repair shop. "system board" replaced , purchased repair price only. shop gave me 30-day warranty "system board" , think 1 of usb ports dead. i'm able plug in external hard drives , flash drives , port able deliver power, although quite dodgy @ first , in little bit delivers sustained power drive drives never mount on desktop.

checked system profiler can't tell what absolutely honest. there 7 usb hubs listed in profiler. here's how they're listed:

system profiler:usb

usb bus

>usb busport
apple internal keyboard / trackpad,
ir receiver

>usb bus
brcm2046 hub: bluetooth usb host controller:

>usb bus high-speed bus
my passport,
built-in isight

usb bus high-speed bus

macbook pro has 2 usb ports, 1 firewire 400 , 800 port, ethernet port , dvi port. can't tell usb bus listed above (that isn't spoken for) represents supposedly troubled usb port or if represented @ all.
