How to tell Siri to check for new email?

i tried:

"check new email"

"refresh email"

"do have new email"

doesn't refresh inbox. have mail set not manually fetch or push, save battery life. how make siri check mail?

 

i haven't found way. tell new email if it's on phone won't refresh it.

i'd curious learn way though.
