Apple TV and Surround Sound

hi mr!

have apple tv 2 , play lot of various content on it, have started notice movie/tv show playing through 2.1 sound opposed 5.1. have checked each sound track on each file, doesn't change.

either rip dvd in handbrake using atv2 preset or convert file using mkvtools (ac3 6ch ac3 5.1)

there doing wrong or settings can change?

try settings, audio & video, dolby digital: "on".
