40Gb of "other" data in two days?????? HELP


my macbook pro has been acting recently. told me have no more space left on start-up disk. upon investigation saw had filled hard drive 100 gb of "other" data. (i have around 20gb of music, movies, photos, , apps.) yesterday. decided fix problem removing partition on hard drive bootcamp using because used windows in fist place. figured new space sufficient, today when logged onto computer informed me still low on start space. had gathered 40 more gb of "other" data!! now, have around 300mb of space. going on!?!?! performance isn't terrible. mean slowing not crawl. problem can't have more 1 or 2 applications open @ once. guess rephrase. performance pretty terrible.

might able tell not tech savvy guy. don't know details of computer, standard macbook pro purchased in 2009. not heavy user of computer. use searching web, writing papers, , other stuff. no major downloading or photo/ video editing.

please help. hope there easy way make go away, because started semester long travel abroad on island. no local mac retailer here...

oh yeah, showing 100% of hard drive full of "other" no music movies photos or apps.
