Why all the hate towards the iPhone?


it seems me on sites engadget comments section filled intense hatred iphone, , apple in general. question why? why these people hate apple much?
 

some people tend hate on things don't have make feel better

Mother found an iphone 4s Verizon.


she has informed me when walkng @ beach found iphone 4s verizon, locked said been 3 weeks , no 1 has called or txted it. im guess thought gone , cancelled service. cant unlocked cause doesnt know password obvi. told dfu mode gonna wait longer if nothing wants know if can use on at&t said prob not. there anyway possible make work on at&t know world phone , has both.
 

couldn't call verizon customer service , give them meid # phone , owned , contact them?

Resolved Help with layout issue on static HTML5 CSS3 site for friend's business


i'm coding first real site using html5 , css3. it's static, fixed-width site, , i'm getting feet wet project out girlfriend's parents. i'm doing free , using learning experience.

i'm near finished i'm running issue how browser interpreting <sections> , <divs>. i've gone through html , i'm pretty confident sections , divs closed off, when inspect site via safari's web inspector, it's ending <section class="maincontent> without including of it's content. i'm suspicious css ".maincontent h1" "clear:both;" may part of problem. i've validated site, , complaints how gradients being generated (which work me, book, , i'm pretty sure unrelated issue i'm having). don't expect fix code me, if point me in right direction article or otherwise, i'd grateful (as girlfriend's family).

Do you think Apple will replace my iPad for this?


i think have tiny speck of dust under display glass, , it's driving me crazy. thing is, it's tiny, i'm not sure if able replaced - i'm not trying pedantic, these things it's case of not being able unsee them once you've seen them (i've attached 2 pictures). can tell me how apple handles this? i've made appointment @ genius bar tomorrow i'll find out, i'd prepared. thing that's bothering me warmth (i. e. yellowness) of screen, think should mention too? (i've attached pic compares settings screen on new ipad 1 on ipad 2).

New here looking for help with iPad


i have ipad 2 locked up. on airport wifi , got software upgrade alert. started down load , locked solid. have tried power , home button reboot no result. doesn't appear charging battery. able icon said plug itunes after 2 days of messing but, in car , unable it. cannot now. thing appears on screen apple icon in center of screen , stays there of time. have no idea other go apple store don't want do. wow, typing this, plugged charger , screen turned bright blue. tried re boot but, apple in center of screen.
ideas ? thanks.
 

do google search free app called tiny umbrella, when it's running , ipad hooked computer use function exit recovery.
should out of , on way fix it.

wondering do, bought ipad2 find out month later ipad 3 came out. been thinking of getting imac 27" graphic design , gaming here new imac coming out, wondering if worth wait or buy now. how better be? student , graduate in june then? love use discount. advice helps thanks.
 

apple pretty consistent announcement dates during year. once learn them little more informed products refresh cycle. expect imac couple quarters away and, personally, expect big. current system still pretty good, suck order now, receive in couple days, , see refresh mindblowingly absurd feel cheated.

Will you get AppleCare+ for new iPad?


will apple replace ipad brand new ipad or refurbished one, if accidentally break it?

think "break even"/"worth it" point applecare+? example, if 16gb wifi model, applecare+ 20% ($99/$499), whereas on 64gb 4g it's 12% ($99/$829). perhaps feel @ 12% apple's extended warranty isn't worth it.

forego protective case , perhaps go smart cover if applecare+?
 

i buy apple care. times don't need when did boy t worth it!

Wireless Storage Solutions for IOS devices?


how feasible/useful these wifi portable hard disks pairing ios devices? mean seagate goflex satellite 500gb, has 802.11 b/g/n wi-fi 30 ft, 5hrs operation, 25hr standby time $200. http://www.amazon.com/seagate-satellite-wireless-external-stbf500101/dp/b004z0s7k6 . there faster flash based ones, going around $50 16gb.

seagate have ipad app allows drive connect wirelessly. im looking @ option pair along 16gb ipad 3. 64gb sku same $200 more lot less space , @ least hdd can used on multiple devices.

looked possibility of using android phone wifi mass storage device accessible ipad. use tethering data anyway, why not storage too?

advise or opinions on feasibility of this?
 

i have seagate goflex satellite , enjoy it. i'm able take along entire itunes library wherever go. wish there improvements in satellite app such creating playlists implemented in future updates. there no way transfer data satellite ipad limitation of ipad not satellite.

you can wake computer sleep keyboard or mouse. make sure wake bluetooth setting on.

Whats a better investment, extra capacity or cellular version?


every year tell myself need more space opt 32gb version of ipad, , every year don't come close filling or taking advantage of it.

year, being itunes match subscriber, there's less justification me had before go 32gb on 16gb. sure lot of users here in same boat.

after using ipad year or two, no longer new device , know our own patterns of usage. however, retina thing has me bit worried. if apps grow large maybe fill in space quickly.

(as side note, idea of how apps grew in size iphone %-wise after upgrades retina?)

question is, if going spend $100 (or $129), better spent on 32gb version ensures got enough space or 3g/cellular version ensures can use cloud access if need it.

wonder how other people decide on issue. icloud/itunes match mean can save $100 year, or better spring capacity and/or cellular access.

never used ipad 3g sim card.

if need network connection , don't have wifi, use phone hotspot.

both show different conversations on phone. jailbroken way merge two? added apple id contacts still doesn't work

iphone App removed itself from phone w/o notifcation


the app 'words friends' i've had app on phone 2 weeks, today wondering why had no move notifications in folder store app, took me majority of work day go app , open application when noticed app gone phone... somehow removed off phone.

has happened else, not words friends, type of app? has never happened me before i'm afraid it'll happen again.
 

app store apps cannot remove ios devices. user must remove either deleting device or syncing off via itunes.

Is there a way to reset my calendar in iCloud, but not on my Mac/iP4?


when first synced ip4 icloud doubled of appointments, unsynced it.

since then, calender has of course changed. synce again, don't want deleted (this critical business!).

there way clear calender that's still on icloud , synce what's on phone?

Flash Player Headaches - Please Help!


i've been unable play embedded videos on year because flash player plugin doesn't work on computer. issue affects both safari , firefox.

briefly, if click on embedded video, shows spinning wheel type of thing, video never loads. i'm running up-to-date version of snow leopard, , have recent version of flash installed.

i've tried reinstalling flash, deleting flash plugin files library folder, reinstalling browsers, disabling pop-up blockers, etc., nothing seems work. example, cannot watch content on globeandmail.com.

i forgot add can watch embedded flash videos on websites, not others. websites cannot watch videos on support browser/hardware, , able watch embedded videos long time ago.

Can't jailbreak iphone 4s


hey all, running latest software on iphone 4s. downloaded appropriate absinthe windows (running windows vista here) , have run administrator. plugged in phone when prompted.

jailbreak appears start, stops. nothing happens. i've tried 10 times now, leave plugged in hours, nothing happens. doesn't hurt device, doesn't change anything, doesn't seem jailbreak it.

tried ipod touch 4g , worked (different download a4 obviously) without major issues (a few tweaks , done). can't start.

suggestions? tried download both iclarified link , dev teams blog , neither made difference.

i've restarted computer, device, etc. without luck.

in advance suggestions. :)

Hello fellow forum buddies! New iPad 2 owner!


i'd introduce myself new forum user , proud owner of ipad 2. yes moron :rolleyes: bought 1 2 weeks ago when 3 come out soon. had no desire of wanting ipad forever bc have laptop , iphone of sudden, no reason got sudden urge of wanting 1 , couldnt wait till ipad3 . got 16g wifi bc plan on buying ipad 3 after 2nd batch released.

also, shocked username chose not taken!? iheartsteve lol. :d correct there on half million users on here , no 1 chose this? of course not regular still had register, think of username lol.

40Gb of "other" data in two days?????? HELP


my macbook pro has been acting recently. told me have no more space left on start-up disk. upon investigation saw had filled hard drive 100 gb of "other" data. (i have around 20gb of music, movies, photos, , apps.) yesterday. decided fix problem removing partition on hard drive bootcamp using because used windows in fist place. figured new space sufficient, today when logged onto computer informed me still low on start space. had gathered 40 more gb of "other" data!! now, have around 300mb of space. going on!?!?! performance isn't terrible. mean slowing not crawl. problem can't have more 1 or 2 applications open @ once. guess rephrase. performance pretty terrible.

might able tell not tech savvy guy. don't know details of computer, standard macbook pro purchased in 2009. not heavy user of computer. use searching web, writing papers, , other stuff. no major downloading or photo/ video editing.

please help. hope there easy way make go away, because started semester long travel abroad on island. no local mac retailer here...

oh yeah, showing 100% of hard drive full of "other" no music movies photos or apps.

The best 'Fan Control' software?


hi, fans max out due changing hard driver on late '09 imac bla bla bla..

using fan control application .. http://exirion.net/ssdfanctrl/

, loved after few restarts of imac app going glitchy , fan speeds there @ '65000' rpm , imac fans max out there top rpm '6000'.

have tried 'smcfancontrol' , 'fan control mac' way complicated, want simple app set speed of hdd fan 1600rpm, , keep @ when ever boot mac etc.. until tell stop.

(also apps ive read people can't uninstall them etc.. none of please :))
 

you don't need 3rd party fan control app. mac knows how manage temps , fan speeds without intervention user or 3rd party apps.

after 60 charge cycles on 2010 macbook pro battery healthy @ decent 90% according istat pro.
not big deal since can plugged in of time anyway.
phone quite different, phone spends 95%(or more) of it's life on move, not charging.

similar iphones battery?
if so, you'd looking @ 10% degradation in 2 months assuming 1 charge day.
that's 30% in 6 months , 60% in 1 year!
 

your battery fine. istat pretty accurate, not 100%. had 4 2 years virtually no noticeable drop in battery life.

Who's doing post production work on an MBA - How disappointed will I be?


here's situation. work video producer , use mac pro @ office. @ home, have 17" mbp love. don't game anymore, , videos produce @ home have become few , far between.

has led lusting on switching 11" mba , thunderbolt display primary pc @ home. love idea of having things centralized 1 machine, transformable accomodate pleasing desktop experience , top notch mobility.

biggest concern is, if video project comes @ home, or feel spending rainy sunday in after effects, pulling hair out in frustration, or "fine"? realize mba isn't designed heavy post-production lifting, i'd opinions of use yours editing or graphics on regular or semi-regular basis.

thoughts?

 

realize major limitation you're stuck @ 4gb of ram maximum. however, processor on new mbas fast. depending on how old mbp (you don't say) mba outperform it. biggest hurdle imagine encounter disk space since on 11" mba you're limited 128gb. however, thunderbolt raid array solve problems , stay connected external display imagine. (or keep footage external harddrive, , put relevant clips on mba's ssd.. don't know workflow or details)

the power in house went out today. went , tried use apple tv when came on , when start apple logo shows goes loop tv flash green , static go black. it's apple tv because doesn't show on phone/network , tv works fine else.

apple tv going back to desktop or menu icons when waking from sleep

Best case so far.


i have been tirelessly lurking these forums , reading reviews online perfect ipad case. took time register , make post on i've found. far have ordered 3 cases, 2 poetic , 1 maroo. when went in searching case knew wanted looked nice, had smart magnet, , light. protection distant 4th long screen's not getting scratched. had otter box on last ipad , never dropped damn thing. anyways, started maroo moko, while nice looking, smart magnets didn't work , feel it's little thick. next went poetic hardback (http://www.amazon.com/poetic-hardback-protective-built--folding/dp/b007hblx5g). case features smart cover on front hard shell protection on back. light , love it. how functions both stand , smart cover. love fact held in magnets come apart stand use. 2 things irk me case cheapy feeling material , fact when in vertical mode cover doesn't fold way back. third case poetic rigid leather back. case nice looking don't how hard remove flap on side use. , don't how hard unclasp use stand.
