How remove Airprint Activator off iPad?


is there way remove aa off ipad default printer?
uninstalled aa off imac wasn't working anymore.
tried brother app printer , working great.
when try print picture using ipad, keep getting aa default printer.
have open brother app , print there.

suggestions?
 

i don't know how remove aa printer, if could, don't think brother app going show there. brother app app, have run app use it.

New Apple tv, no 1080p mode


i bought new apple tv 1080p capacity. got it, notice in hdmi output, there no 1080p option.

did:

-checked update
-my tv support 1080p@60hz model: bravia kdl-40m4000
-my cable can output 10080p fine on xbox 360 , blu-ray
-it new apple tv according model #: md199ll/a

make 1080p happens? :(
 

you need watch 1080p content such 1080p movies itunes or ripped blu-rays or 1080p netflix.

Who owns both an iPad and MBA?


i have ipad 3 , have had mbp in past. find missing power , capability mbp provided.

ipad serves purpose: extremely lightweight, amazing screen, consumption.

i'm curious else here feels same and, result, owns both 2 different purposes offer.

ipad + keyboard isn't option. sure, i'd have clunky keyboard can hardly use anywhere desk, i'd still limited in can do: functionality.

i'm trying update parents atv2 latest os every time somewhere in middle of step 1 (after has downloaded it) rather unhelpful message, "an error occurred" , ok prompt. hitting ok takes start of having redownload again. happens repeatedly. first time i've had trouble updating os. suggestions?

I hate to flog a dead horse but...


i see lot of anti-flash posts on many apple-related websites obvious reason people defend purchases.

i've never understood view. own samsung galaxy s2 starting age now, yet if load flash in browser, seems absolutely no harm speed of handset in general, can still flick around websites if wasn't there. similarly, know has new transformer prime , doesn't seem have issues whatsoever. in fact, shown streaming bbc1 live , didn't stutter whatsoever.

"messages" for macbook pro caught in file transfer loop


i downloaded messages beta computer , working out great. talking sister , sent me video transferred fine.

sudden every time quit out of messages asks me if i'm sure because there files transferring. check queue , there .mov file waiting sister accept. may have sent on accident, i'm wondering how can cancel transfer doesn't automatically try push transfer through every time start program. hope makes sense.

self-signed applet: "always trust" not recognized/remembered on Mac 10.7


(this question has been posted on java , mac forums beginning 3 days ago, have not received helpful information date.)

hello,

have developed website archive privately distributed stand alone archive run locally on user's computer (no server). uses lucene search engine (java) search archive; search api/applet packaged in jar file , jarfile/applet self-signed.

in order search, self-signed certificate created search applet, since files in archive searching on user's hard drive. after initial installation of archive, , upon first search initiated, security window pops asking user permission user run applet.

problem lies here:

windows , versions of mac os x prior 10.7 (lion), user can check "always trust" (or similar), , on, subsequent searches carried out without prompting user accept certificate (even after restarting browser application)

however, on lion, user can run applet once, , continue security prompt on every search afterwards, though "always trust" checked.

behaviour occurs whether using firefox or safari, apparent system related, not browser issue.

attempted manually import certificate both keychain access, , authorities under firefox's certificate manager (see http://www.clintharris.net/2009/self-signed-certificates/). not successful.

possibilities have considered are:

there no publisher name self-signed cert. on previous versions of os x, security window states signer's name, , option view certificate. user can check "always trust these certificates". on lion, security window states publisher's name, comes "unknown". analogous "always" checkbox states, "always trust content publisher". appears pre-lion allowing option trust particular certificate, whereas lion allowing option trust publisher.

there way create publisher name when self-signing?

far importing certificate, because archive local (url = file://) won't recognize it? know why doesn't work?

know happening here, or can suggest work-around (besides paying "trusted" ca). worked hunky-dory -- until lion...

seems me user should have option of choosing whether trust certificate or not. 1 need have verisign's stamp of approval trust he's known , worked 20 years?

in opinion seems bug in lion; is, user can choose 1 time accept certificate, there no option accept in future.

i have observed if attempt load applet webserver, different security prompt appears, giving option accept content particular site, or if go advanced options, can choose accept content same signature. when this, behaves desired.

appears problem reveals when applet located on local filesystem. not know why such distinction should made.

Should I leave "Discoverable" in Bluetooth settings on?


is safety issue if leave on? if turn off, new devices (like magic trackpad) not join automatically?
 

just out of abundance of caution, leave "off" can. don't have bt turned on laptop. don't know of bt exploit (not saying don't exist, don't know .... ) figure if habit overly cautious, , turn on services when reminded dialogue box telling me can't something, don't need worry should exploit developed.

Battery life still rubbish


getting annoyed this, battery life rubbish on ios 5.0.1 set new phone, no difference, turned of icloud, no difference, , today went hassle of installing brand new battery thinking battery problem again no difference, took phone of charger 30 mins ago, checked twitter , emails , phone down 10% 2 mins of use , sitting idle. ideas?

Wintec Filemate 96GB ExpressCard--how to partiotion & make bootable?


i'm trying partition new wintec filemate 96gb ssd card windows (xp or 7, haven't decided yet). followed apple-published instructions in bootcamp installation guide stating need first format mac os extended (journaled), use bootcamp assistant partition windows (ntfs). so, formatted mac os extended, journaled (using "guid" option), when tried partition in bootcamp assistant, hard drive shown there, no wintec ssd. how proceed?

wintec ssd show in finder, , system sees "serial ata", should regarded internal disk. also, bootcamp guide says "if computer has more 1 internal disk , want install
boot camp on disk isn’t in first hard drive bay, remove drives in lower numbered bays. can reinstall drives after install boot camp" -- mean should remove hard drive , boot osx dvd? before removing hard drive, tried start dvd, got grey screen apple logo; got stuck on screen, doesn't seem working me either. suggestions?
 

any luck this? trying same thing.

Having rubbish battery life?


i using 3gs on ios 5.0.1, here example, 10 mins earlier on twitter , battery dropped 7%, sitting doing nothing drop 10% hour, turned push emails of anyway thats not issue, icloud off. have notifications on twitter etc never used give issues. ideas?

son has 4th gen ipod, plays games alot, can kill battery in 2hrs max 120 mins , dead, again 5.0.1
 

sounds pretty normal if upgraded 4.x 5.x, or if restored backup @ all. same goes ipod touch. try restoring new. i'm quite sure you'll see significant improvement.

App Store on iP4 slower than usual?


what's app store, never fast it's taking forever, , 35 updates have waiting, forget it.

many of start of update, stops , doesn't update. , don't bother. have had ages on there. updates when try. downloading new ones fine, updater problematical , hardly ever works.

Installing different programs.


whenever try install example chrome, installs fine in applications folder icon chrome black , white white circle , line through it. don't why this, ejected install file finder , did nothing. restarted , fixed it.

there has doing wrong, new mac please take easy on me. question is, do when install apps , that?
 

it's common. there several ways fix it.
  • relaunch finder
  • log in , log out.
  • restart computer.
  • drag application folder off dock , re-add it.

dock icons bouncing


hi all!
possible configure particular application icon bounce in dock when opened? maybe 3rd party application or system setting exists can configure applications should bounce in dock.

have issue office reminder application. can't make bounce when notification happens , why missed few events. have configured 4 desktops on macos , use first 1 outlook opens notification on second desktop , not see them in time.

possible configure outlook bounce on new mails, didn't found same setting reminders.

i on 4.3.3 jb , got great xmas present worked developing 5.01 jb. (pwnage) easy implement , worked flawlessly. noticed battery consumption better on 5.01 jb.

again, thank of worked many many hours on effort. bravo!

two iMacs, a pc, and macbook air all in one household?


ok mom bought first mac, imac 21.5 inch i5 500 gb hdd running os x lion. getting computer graduation , want macbook , imac pick one. mom says doesn't want have "two of big expensive computers in house" , respect guys have more 1 imac desktop in house? or bit overboard? can't use moms mac run game salad , can't 1 mail app cmes want able use imac can sync ipods/iphone , use of apps how many mac desktops guys have in household?
 

why can't create own user account on mom's imac? can synch via account , use mba lighter work.

System version plist


ive changed system version plist in ifile 5.1 install iphoto on 5.0.1 jail broken 4s i'm having trouble installing applications cydia. couldn't install psx4all , zephyr has uninstalled , won't let me reinstall saying ios software needs 5.0 or greater. i've changed version 5.0.1 , 5.1 again no luck.
 

yeah it's why changed 5.0.1. iphoto wasn't worth it.

Replacement Mac Pro fan


im noticing pcie fan on mac pro sounding loud , annoying me. since pcie fan assembly user serviceable according apple's manuals i'm thinking of replacing myself instead of taking 200km nearest apple approved tech. i'm wondering if need whole assembly or fan , source of is?

Problem with Mac/Windows XP


hi all,

yesterday installed windows xp on imac using boot camp. when tried run windows support software downloaded via boot camp @ start of process told me required windows 7.

detest windows 7, , don't want xd i'm happy windows xp. runs dream, can't use drivers/wireless etc without running support software apparently :<

there why hands on support software can still run xp? or way drivers installed can use mac functionalities?

i'm running om mac os x 10.6.8. thanks!
 

apple have dropped support windows xp , vista latest boot camp drivers. believe should able find correct boot camp drivers version need apple's download page. know have version 2.x on there.

out of curiosity, detest windows 7?

Does wifi only iPad 3 have a gps chip?


clearly no agps according apple specs impression uses beyond wifi geolocation because when call maps, it's instantaneous, precise , small gps logo appears on top right!
ipad 2 slower , imprecise in comparison, gives?
 

if have location service enabled, features "find ipad" our location has been recorded before open maps app.

Want better speed+processing. Help?


hey guys, new guy here. here thing, have late 2011 macbook pro 13" i5, 2.3ghz. it's nice, second laptop after pc. thing is, isn't fast be. otherwise happy it. real issues takes microsoft word , excel , bunch of other programs school while startup. don't realy need more 100gb. researching , found ssd great speed. come here ask ssd , can optimum performance. :apple: guys.
 

you add more ram , not quit applications often, unless don't need them while.
can run 2007 imac 10 25 applications open @ same time (on measly 4 gb ram) quite good. same goes 2009 mbp 8 gb ram.

performance tips mac os x

ssd: i have vertex 2 , 3 in macs , have been good. others swear on crucial m4 or intel 320 or samsung 830 ssds.

, if don't use windows via boot camp can use sleep feature of mac instead of shutting down, if prompts repetitively start applications.

everytime try open drawsomething, opens , crashes. i've uninstalled , reinstalled app, powercycled phone, still crashing. advice?
 

my recommendation write own ****** app crashes @ startup , sell zynga $200 million. that's i've been working on, , crashing part surprisingly easy code!

Question: Is there any backlight bleeding in the white iPad 3 due to its color?


i've ordered white ipad 3, , friend of mine (also mac fan) mentioned heard white color of casing lead color/backlight bleeding when compared black model.

have of faced issue above or nonsense? remember sj being particularly careful ensuring white casing of idevices not let light through...thanks answers..!

Ex GF with drug problems, help.


ok people, here situation. need realistic , mature advice only.

dating girl last year, funniest, cutest, hot, lovely girl ever. of course, thing see when someone.

want make story short. 26, cuban. escaped island on own @ 23. got fake documentation on board of plane left in caribbean island, there had take boat , walk on night pack on inhabited island catch boat passed by. pretty situation movie mid night express.

got miami guys house, abused , moved there.

way. child, made bad friends , cocaine. when met felt on , off in mind. hit father alcoholic in cuba, why escaped. now, after several months realized suffers borderline personality disorder.

has friend put cocaine, girl. didn't know her. getting know (lets call ex gf "s"), realized made sort of friendship. first time away home, no family around, got bad company.

moved me , left after 2 weeks when realized disaster between parties , crazy friends , conflictive , stressed out. around september last year.

ok... today more cocaine, got man 50 years old, sugar daddy. after saw me in st. patrick girl.

ting know contact me again after hit rock button man or sooner.

have 2 choices...

1. can move on , leave alone, know of friends take , ones take advantage of her: drugs sex.

2. take , put rehab. has no professional title in us. lovely last year took wrong path loneliness , ingenuity. taking imply bring place, 37.

now... live in miami , not know how fin appropriate assistance because called centers , around $33k 4 months.

1. need place drug treatment
2. therapist , psychiatric help.

can cover therapist , psychiatric have no clue dealing under circumstances , need counseling.

if find tools feel prepared take because know contact me eventually. actual friend got convinced go other girl , party , led have "experience". suffers depressions, instead of realizing things, convert herself drugs , new "father figure". worst thing posted picture of him in facebook page , bet horror , deception of contacts, literally went nuts. week after saw me other girl.

way, how find professional around miami area? , need free help, government or something. have no clue world.

iMac low-end 27" for gaming


hey everyone, title suggests looking purchase low end 27" imac gaming, since tv broke, plan on selling ps3 , looking play battlefield 3, blops zombies , crysis 2 - not interested in super-jaw dropping graphics, these awesome machines run these games @ 720p 'console'-similar graphics (not exact, i'm more of love gameplay, not graphics person - ff7 favourite game lol), regards, skate71290
 

it run these games better console @ 720p. rather blurry on 1440 monitor, unless sit far away :)

Mac File access from Android?


while wait cell phone die can snag iphone...

wondering if there's not-too difficult way access mac files (snow leopard) wife's android phone (presumably creating webdav server)? i've poked around interwebs, , setting server on mac side doesn't should hard, without separate server tools; android side? thoughts? inspired friend installed server pack onto lion, , showed me how can access compy files iphone if mac network drive connected iphone.

in advance suggestions/input! :)



**also, if there's better spot post, let me know. thought server/networking bunch might have best answers. note on snow leopard, not sl server.**

Syncing Numbers through iPad, iPhone, and OSX


i bought numbers ipad , iphone. don't know if needed or not, shared spread sheets created iwork , can view them on both of ios devices , edit them while both update in real time.

decided buy numbers '09 osx , i'm having issue. not see spreadsheets on mac on osx devices. downloaded shared sheets iwork old version hasn't been updated.

do?
 

unfortunately apple has not updated iwork osx apps support new icloud sync support available ios apps. need download documents icloud website.

Certain Graphics Slow Powerpoint 2011 for Mac to a Crawl... Any solution?


one of clients uses powerpoint template of presentations contains company logo. template , presentations work fine in terms of performance on office windows, whenever open them on office mac 2011 (latest patch), powerpoint becomes extremely slow , unusable. opening presentation, moving slide slide , modifying slide takes 100% of cpu (intel core i7, 4gb ram) , each action can take anywhere 3 30 seconds. if delete logo template, behavior fixed.

large corporation, not able convince them change template. there solutions or fixes problem can me with?

help!
 

i've not worked out consistent fix behaviour pp either. however, happens in instances initial graphic large file person made pp put each individual slide (rather duplicating slide). have had go through , remake pp useable.

other possibility there incompatible animations.

oh , possibility using ppt, not pptx. pp 2011 not handle ppt documents @ all!
