G5 not recognizing memory upgrade

dual 2.0 ghz power mac g5, it's model on right on spec page...

http://support.apple.com/kb/sp96

bought 4 x 1gb of pny ddr pc3200 400 mhz ram (it says compatible pc3200 400 mhz on box)

installed memory, in matching pairs, center outward on motherboard.

made sure memory firmly installed, , latches locked (although did notice black latches on side of memory ports did not close close original memory came computer) when noticed re-tried insert memory see if little black latches close way original memory don't. doubt issue knows.

reboot , still says 1 gb memory. open system profiler under memory , says other bays empty except factory units.

suggestions? memory should work in computer. should try installing memory factory memory located experiment or know problem might be?

if latches don't seem clipping way place more haven't seated ram properly. may seem delicate task , may not want have apply quite lot of pressure ram go in correctly. that's not problem it'd 1 place start. lay thing on it's side, pull out modules you've put in reinsert them, gradually push down bloody hard until hear/feel clicking place. latches should go way in if it's seated.
