Dual Booting with File Vault enabled

so since installed lion i've been using file vault encrypt drive. want go ahead , partition out chunk of drive , play around linux installs. file vault give me problems this? if carve out partition decrypt 20 or gb i'll take or no?

repartitioned ssd spare space. got 20gb free disk space.
bootup needs workaround - have press 'alt' boot menue. if don't press 'no boot medium found'.

bold, because rely on mac next couple of days.
install linux mint on bootcamp device.
