Command_R and Option_R giving same key codes

hello,

i'm having bit of problem. few days ago, keyboard's right-side command , option keys started giving same scancode (option—i using cheap logitech pc keyboard after accidentally frying mac pro keyboard, had command , option swapped).

anyway, tried rebuilding keyboard , system preferences, replacing keyboard; nothing changed. reset nvram , pram, yet problem persists. had download keyremap4macbook remap context menu key option , right option key command regain semblance of normality.

have wonder, cause mess this? i'm running disk permissions repair sure, i'm not sure help. replacing of keyboard (with brand-new 1 of different brand) seems indicate problem after keyboard, i.e. in usb interface or in mac os software.

suggestions? "get new mac" isn't quite option yet (next summer should able afford it), , main computer college use, i'd figure out.


i'm using 2003 1 ghz g4 emac 1 gb ram running os x 10.5.8 leopard. i'm using apple mighty mouse , cheap pc keyboard, western digital passport hard drive plugged usb hub. have no other peripherals aside ethernet , 1/8" audio in/out. also, can't think of programs installed right before key inputs messed up.
