iPhoto crashes after software update: Terrified my pictures are gone


i'm running os x 10.6.8 , installed software updates. iphoto won't open , error message: check developer make sure iphoto works version of mac os x. may need reinstall application.

if delete iphoto , reinstall lose pictures , video? have 1500 of 5 month old daughter, worried right now. installed latest update iphoto off apple website didn't help. here's details of error message get, appreciated!

go pictures folder, right click on iphoto library , select show package contents.

now, find folder marked originals (or masters). inside of you'll find photos.

reinstalling iphoto shouldn't delete iphoto library can make backup of first sure.

actually, it's idea make regular backups of , put them somewhere safe, give contents important you.
