New computer advice

i have new mac itch , buying new computer after line refreshed (hopefully redesign).

do/will computer:

-adobe cs5.5
-imovie , starting on final cut
-light garageband , learning logic
-several autodesk
-3d modeling

i'm recent design school grad. need serious while portable. of serious work @ desk @ home. may change in future though.

have:

-mid '11 2.7 i5 27" imac
-27" cinema display
-ipad 16 gb

i'm debating between going few different ways...

keep imac , macbook air complement can used cinema display @ times

sell imac , loaded 15" mbp , use cinema display @ home (any real advantage upgrading tb?)

sell imac , base mac pro upgraded gaphics load myself ssd , 16+ gb ram. use cinema display. continue using ipad portable needs.

find lion makes having 2 displays less useful , 1 27" screen seems enough.

advice or other suggestions welcome.
