Is This the Right Way to Undo My iTunes Match Mess?

backstory
on years we've purchased lot of music itunes on wife's account (we'll call wife@me.com) apps iphone.

got ipad , purchased lot of apps ipad using husband@me.com.

bought itunes match subscription using wife's itunes account, wife@me.com on our home computer.

problem
want share of our music , our apps between our devices can't b/c we're using 2 different itunes accounts.

solution - right way?
going stop using wife@me.com account altogether. start using husband@me.com future itunes purchases.

lose access music purchased wife@me.com itunes account?

should match account? @ point, i'm inclined right off $25 , start on husband@me.com itunes match subscription. lose if that?
