Downgrade to SL 10.6 problem

new in mac world .. buy imac in june 2011 , far try sl. imac came lion pre-installed on it?

hardware is:
- model:imac
- model id: imac 12,2
- cpu: i5
- freq cpu: 3,1ghz
- nb cpu: 1
- core: 4
- cache level 2: 256kb
- cache level 3: 6mb
- graphic card: ati amd radeon hd 6970
- video memory: 1024kb
- rom version: im121.0047.bid
- version sml: 1.7212
- os version: mac osx 10.7.2 (11c74)

read posts can or cannot install sl... far inread post giving machines witch can model 12,2 , not.

honest (just try before buying). downloaded image (dmg) of sl 10.6 retail disk.. true or not don't know. toasted , restored on usb stick.

voted opt key , format + partionned hd decided boot first on optical usb stick. same error :

"panic cpu caller ..... unsupported cpu ....

question:

possible or not possible install sl ? if yes how appreciated !
need buy original check if working ?
server version maybe better working ?

to install sl, on model mac, believe must have latest sl install
disk 10.6.6 work around create bootable sl partition on external drive, apply latest updates, 10.6.8, , clone drive internal hd on computer. need older mac create external drive. once created, clone new mac. have installed sl.
