Problem redirecting Documents folder to AD home folder

hi,

work in large educational environment, , going update lion in next few weeks (we need in order run latest version of xcode)

currently, have golden triangle setup in place (with ad , 10.6 mac server). when student logs on, script runs in background (a launch agent calls script) redirect folders in profile location on hard drive (i.e. movie, pictures , music folders) , set desktop read (helps file management). redirect documents folder active directory home folder. works in 10.5 , 10.6, having tested 10.7.3, doesnt seem allow practice of redirecting documents folder. in console, throws error message of "operation not permitted". dont have problems redirecting music, pictures , music folders.

give overview, in setting machine, create custom user profile , replace system profiile (system/library/user templates/english.lproj) custom one. gets around problem of having permission remove documents folder , creating symbolic link points users home folder. works ok when removing music, pictures , movies folder (by running rm -rf command remove these folder) , run command ln -f -s (along few other switches) create symbolic link each of these folders point them hidden folder on root of drive.

allows thrash profile when user logs out. run script on logout remove data in redirected folders has not been modified in on 90 days (just clear old data)
advise our students save in documents folder, ad home folder.

so, has else come across this?
possible run command on mac remove protective feature of documents folder. want able redirect documents folder location. have tested out redirecting same location other 3 folders (music, movies , pictures) still same error of "operation not permitted"
have changed permission of documents folder in system/library/user templates/english.lproj/documents give read/write permission, no joy.

whilst i'm not able shed light on current situation help. work in educational institution , accomplish similar thing. have historically used 10.6 network home directories finding number of issues standard folder redirections, ad , else.

interested if able share script on how achieve , how user in workgroup manager created. ours augmented users home network home directory settings applied.

i'd happy test configuration , findings come across.
