i have music video .mp4 file. according ffmpeg, it's mp42 h264 video @ 1920x788 , aac audio stream.
far can tell, ipad 3 ought able play this.
yet when try , sync ipad, itunes complains video cannot copied ipad because "it cannot played on ipad"
ideas why?
frustrating getting media on ipad. had copy file galaxy tab, virtually file format, yet on thing it's overly complicated process doesn't work.
thought apple ecosystem supposed better? whole itunes , lack of formats support dreadful user experience.
sorry having bad experience itunes, find apple stuff "just works" -- until doesn't. 
then, it's hard figure out went wrong. anyway, have no idea why video file isn't working, works in situation create ipad version of file. select file in itunes, click on "advanced" in menu, , you'll see option there. leaves 2 copies of same video, annoying, when there no apparent reason why original file doesn't work, newly created copy should play on ipad.
