i have mid-2009 macbook pro 15 inch unibody. lately i've been running applications folding@home , steam mac. i'd run folding@home of time shared computing great cause (protein folding/unfolding disease research) program ramps heat , fan speeds max.
swear istat pro wrong seeing of temps being shown. i've run similar intensive programs hours , while hot , full speed fans mac kept running , never crashed.
have aeolus aluminum cooling pad 7 inch fan. fan speed isn't fast enough make big difference.
i'm looking better 15inch macbook pro cooling pad preferable either high speed large fan or 2 high speed smaller fans. it'll on desk.
recommendations? appreciated!
is computer shutting down due excessive heat generated machine's processor? if should take in repair. if not, don't need cooling pad because it's not going you.
