Generic magnetic stip material for case backs?

i asked question in separate thread got lost in discussions wanted spin off new thread in hope of getting responses.

what's best material cut strip , stick of ipad case (like incipio smart feather, belkin snap case, etc) when smart cover folded magnets stick strip?

benefit me using case without built in strip.
