lucky enough given 2006 macbook pro 15" 1.1 few months ago , have been working upgrade wonderful old gal.
far have done following her:
1. upgrade ram stock 512 mb 2 gb
2. upgraded os stock 10.6.8
3. repaired dead right side fan (this why given macbook, original owner thought hard drive dying)
curious else can feasibly max out.
have been researching ssd hard drives , thinking of installing either 120 gb ssd or possibly 1 tb 7200 rpm hdd. of these better option longevity performance in future. macbook primary computer , using @ least coupe more years things web/email/podcast recording/itunes , secondlife. no heavy video work, , mild photo editing using stock canon digital photo professional , iphoto.
needs new battery have determined best option direct apple tune of 129 dollars fresh oem battery.
get ssd , if arent using optical drive, swap out optibay.
put ssd in main bay, , 1tb hdd on optibay.
way, won't have problems small storage.
, clear 1 thing you, ssd. not ssd hard drive.
