OS X just locked up in a very strange way...
i woke macbook , tried play music itunes media keys , nothing happened, tried click things in itunes find unresponsive. tried use command + q in itunes didn't work either. brought force quit window blank. clicked finder icon , told "the application finder can't opened. -10810", mac doing nothing @ when trying click other app icon.
able make computer shut down and, after booted again, checked console logs , messages before shut down seem originate chrome:

searched these errors , found thread on apple's support forums this, people there talking being linked external hard drives. i've not plugged hd or usb stick or mac day, though.
does, however, seem snow leopard bug has existed since sl's release. weird it's occurred randomly me after fair few sl updates.
i'm beginning think hard drive's on way out. when mac's been reading , writing it, it's been slow in past few months, , yesterday when tried close itunes , firefox both hanging while drive being frantically accessed.
type on ipad, i'm leaving macbook backups in case goes. there way test health of hd other s.m.a.r.t. (which reading good)?
