my mac has owc mercury pro extreme sata 2 ssd. it's 1 of fastest sata 2 ssds out there. but, has 115 gb of storage , find myself running out of room. spring i'll buying new macbook pro. right top choice of ssd 240 gb corsair force series gt. uses sandforce 2200 controller , sata 3 interface. it's identical ocz vertex 3 , owc mercury pro extreme 6g, cheaper. there reason me hold off on buying new ssd?
i can think of no reason hold off other fact next week cheaper, that's going true of every week foreseeable future--as tech things, buy when need it.
reference, reason corsair force series gt cheaper may corsair gt doesn't handle incompressible data writes well--the reviews i've seen show owc extreme 6g (for example) being twice fast on incompressible-data writes corsair. corsair incompressible-data reads faster owc's electra, though.
question: sig shows i7 mbp; i'm assuming that's 2011 model working 6g? assuming so, keep in mind optical bay doesn't have 6g sata on machines, , doesn't work on do. (if don't have 2011, keep in mind 6g ssd make no difference in speed.)
