New textbooks crashes to grey screen

i wanted see how new textbooks worked, downloaded free one. when try running it, hear announcer's voice grey screen. there nothing grey on screen , leaving ibooks , going in takes me right grey screen. suggestions?

 

i've been authoring picture-heavy book using ibooks author , have seen few times on ipad (original model).

have force quit , relaunch ibooks works. no idea why/when going happen. seems random.
