Old vs New SIM Card? Iphone 3GS 5.0.1 - Tmobile [HELP!]

so able jailbreak, , unlock 3gs on 5.0.1 using redsn0w , ultrasn0w. tmobile sim card have been using quite while (few years) works fine in 3gs.

however, when plug wife's new tmobile sim card it, 3gs says "no sim installed".

there sort of change between old , new sim cards i'm not aware of? how can go remedy this?

appreciated guys.
