Duplicate contacts

hi,

have been trying solve problem ages!

basically, in address book on mac , on iphone, contacts duplicated. e.g have created groups 'family' 'work' etc, , appear twice in groups list.

i've followed loads of tips , stuff in forums, nothing seems work.

want rid of these duplicate groups & contacts.

if has advice or appreciated.

i'm on mac pro lion 10.7.2 / iphone4s latest update / icloud (used on mobileme , have merged)
