bug tracking/feature request software?

i'm working multiple customers , programmers, , need sort of online bugtracking , feature request software apps build. use?

while basecamp, it's bit overkill. i'm not looking full featured project management app. on other hand, list apps tend simple (i.e. can't assign status 'in progress', or assign ownership). simple better, people need want use it. must online app, maybe iphone app interface, and/or ability email bug/feature it.

that? i've tried redmine, rtm, , customers revert sending emails, bloody mess.
