Does the camera connection kit import in high res?

i've wondered, when use camera connection kit import photos ipad, import in full size?

or downsize save space?

not have camera connection kit, , wanted buy purchase one. if did import in full resolution.

thoughts were, can use ipad backup sd card while i'm traveling.
