Hackintosh reliable?

hello everyone,

let me start off saying love mac , apple products. thinking of buying imac once newer ones come out money becoming issue me. i'm trying save money can move out on own. better computer comes first. need 1 3d graphics (maya), animation , editing. macbook pro still enough... if usb ports weren't messed up. can use better , that's why planning on buying imac.

today thinking maybe can save money building hackintosh instead. have mac osx lion (needed upgrade run maya) , mouse. thing i'm worried if hackintosh reliable. don't know if i'll have issues , hardware not being compatible, , of that. plan keep baby couple of years.

advice? honest.

i wouldn't trust hackintosh important. many people have called hackintoshes more reliable , stable real thing (comparing them mac pros , imacs). have few issues concept outside of license compliance. there little things (disk warrior example) not uses can break in hackintosh environment. not wish @ mercy of write kexts , patch bootloaders , stuff.

regarding 3d stuff, maya has more plugins available on pc side. used suck on macs. these days runs quite things, there few quirks. users have said runs better in osx. i'm not sure that, don't have of plugins available windows version.

don't care imac either. macbook pros fine. make sure don't hot when rendering, , integrated graphics not tested autodesk. happened usb ports?
