HDMI from iPad, other screen in Portrait mode?

hello,

i'd use hdmi adapter ipad, display (sheet) music on ipad's screen screen. work - if hold ipad in portrait mode, other screen shows ipad 'image' in center, lots of black on left , right sides (i think called 'pillar box' format). if hold ipad in landscape mode, image fills other screen. want have music single 'page' on ipad (held in portrait mode on music stand) while other larger tv/monitor, mounted in portrait mode, shows same single sheet of music, filling screen.

is, i'd not have other screen (tv or monitor) in typical tv setup (landscape). i'd rotate other screen portrait mode, have ipad in portrait mode, , have output fill other screen. know ipad won't detect when rotate other screen of course - want find setting allows this. way music fills 2nd screen (a tv or monitor). hate see wasted (black) space on monitor!

want other screen in portrait mode (as hold ipad in portriat mode), displaying what's on ipad's screen, ipad held in portrait mode.

application of "digital signage" idea, in ipad connected larger screen mounted in portrait mode (90 degrees rotated way tv 'usually' viewed), , have ipad output fill screen.

can done?

i think if have sheet music sideways (wouldn't useful of time) can open file on ipad , lock rotation, turn ipad portrait (even though locked in landscape). display correctly on rotated tv well.
