you don't need "hard drive site." general purpose hardware site fine.

there many: new egg popular , has reputation. amazon, same. many others list.

smaller outfits fine also. used buy place called zipzoomfly. prices , service had near stock big places do. i'm sure there others it.

when go buy disk, i'd recommend buying "bulk pack" or "bare" drive. don't need retail packaged drive.

careful , check model numbers. there older model drives out there. that's not bad, find bewildering variety of drives appear same, in fact aren't.

watch rotational speed (7200 vs "variable" or 5400). nobody's trying cheat @ reputable places, @ same time can click on isn't think is, or want.

if see seems buy you, exact model number , google it. may find wasn't 1 of company's best efforts (for example, can still find seagate 1.5 tb drives out there, , don't have reputation).

drive jumps out , leads pack while. haven't been buying drives several months (waiting prices drop down again) , when read test of new seagate 3 tb (st3000dm001) surprised how better seems what's out there in high-capacity range now.

i'm saying can't know manufacturer going hit homer. or strike out.
