Can you play Sega Game Gear games on the Sega Master system?

i know there adapters play master system games on game gear, i'd rather buy master system on portable battery-dependant game gear system.

dependance on batteries , microscopic screen 2 main reasons i'm shying away game gear. if able play game gear games on master system, able play on larger screen, , not have deal frustrations of batteries.

input appreciated!

edit: did more searching , impossible play game gear games on master system. there mods can make game gear system output tv, colors screwed up. here's website read of on:
