Help! Text select cursor has gone white and invisible?!

for reason text select cursor - style cursor, has changed white instead of black , can't see on white background of page.

happening in microsoft word , dreamweaver.

ideas?

 

as first step in troubleshooting, have restarted computer?

can't see cursor in ms word 2011
