Ghostery?

hey all,
have begun educating myself cookies, etc. track , looking keep browsing private possible. came across ghostery , seems have reviews nice features(not mention free), when download received message said

"install extensions sources trust. extensions can modify appearance , behavior of safari, , access private information @ websites."

don't know if idea allow them access private information @ websites... input?
