Sluggish 2011 MBP, help needed

hi everyone,

last week colleague broke mba lcd. sold mba , bought 2011 mbp 15" (2.2ghz, 4gb ram, 750gb hdd & amd 6750 1gb). paid $1500 , don't know if reasonable price. way, still covered apple warranty.

i'm noticing sluggishness , slow response, , not expecting laptop. example, opening reeder app take 1:40 min , ms word take 23 seconds. thought mbp faster previous laptop (2010 11" mba). know ssd speed system, not sure if low performance related hdd. think?

ordered crucial m4 , 8gb ram, , hope it'll fix this. can cancel order if think problem related hardware/software.
