How Is This Possible? Time issue...

my inlaws visiting , noticed in mail app dates on emails 11/24/11.

looked @ time on menu bar, , correct. have set display day of week. both of these correct. however....

if click on time, shows it's 11/24/11 below. i'm unsure how solve this.

have reset smc , pram, , issue still happens. running 10.6.8 combo update again.

 

have tried deselecting 'set date , time automatically' , reenabling it?
