Possible to listen to music on ATV without visuals?

is possible listen music on atv without visual display on tv, i.e. album art , screensaver? i'd listen without tv visuals.

 

while not sure, think depends on how you're routing sound output. if sound going out through hdmi, tv off, you're out of luck. others should confirm this. have atv3 in transit. i'll know when arrives.
