hi guys, searched , searched couldn't find answer particular issue. if i've not looked hard enough , query has been answered moderators please redirect me , lock/delete thread.
i'm having trouble adding music itunes. know fact there's 12,322 mp3 files (which don't know if makes difference, copied them on external ntfs drive). dragged them "automatically add itunes" folder , had set preferences keep library organised, , once process of organising them had concluded, itunes shows 6622 of them.
did search in folder , files there, sorted in respective folder each artist (as has sorted them), going itunes when searching music songs don't show up.
if double click song artist name folder in finder, gets added itunes library, considering number of albums still outstanding take hours 1 one make sure they're added, , without duplicates.
please help?

have verified .mp3 files, or in format itunes doesn't recognize?
if adds them, click file > add library , select "automatically add itunes" folder. not add items exist in library. won't create duplicates.
