Mac OSX cannot be installed on this computer - SSD new osx install

problem: when attempt install osx 10.6.4 dvd or usb, language screen , message pops up:

"mac osx cannot installed on computer"

my laptop , new ssd info:

have macbook pro 5,5. replaced original hd intel x25-m 160gb ssd.

what i've tried:

boot up, used disk utility erase disk, create new single partition (mac os extended journaled, guid partition table).

disk utility sees drive fine. lists intel ssdsa2m160g2gc media.

under first aid, ive tried verify disk , repair disk , both come no issues, reporting drive fine.

i've done number of times (4 or so, far) no avail. has been through , found solution share? seems x25 compatible, formats , partitions fine, 10.6.4 should install fine on macbook that's came laptop in first place.

i've read through many threads here , other places find.

cheers

where did dvd come from? grey install disk came mac? grey install discs come macs model-specific , not work on other models. can either order replacement discs model calling apple, or can buy retail copy of snow leopard.
