Help me upgrade my power mac

hey, im using powermac g4 867mhz (quicksilver?). runs leopard okay , great machine simple office life leads.

started thinking upgrading g5. seeing prices continue drop, have started looking around.

know g5 upgrade, question is, model worth in respect bang buck.

options:

• upgrade current g4
  
• buy g5
  (which one? quads crazy expensive, i've seen them on 700... money id rather buy macbook air , hook existing display!)

or insight give me great!

i bought g5 quad on ebay $450us (included 4gb ram , 7800gt graphics card). know ppc architecture starting have compatibility problems, quad far powerful powerpc macintosh 1 can buy. if don't want buy powerpc computer, might want core2duo mac mini (so can install lion)...but prefer quad lol. best of luck search.
