eMac powerPC problems

emac 1.25ghz 1 gig ram

gonna sound stupid, given emac couple of weeks ago had major problems, have fixed everything. perplexing deleting ati drivers , don't have boot in safe boot - i'm wanting upgrade 10.5, it's running 10.4.11 won't it. can read single layer dvd @ boot not read dual layer dvd boot screen (holding down option @ boot) when os x 10.5 dual layer dvd in there won't read it, show hard drive

suggestions helpful - mac @ work can put specs in here tomorrow if needed

 

it sounds emac has bad capacitors. many emacs plagued this. way check remove emac's shell , @ capacitors. things little cans. if leaking or have rounded top them, bad. can replaced if @ soldering.
