i’ve been macrumors reader several years, first forum post. i’ve tried yahoo! answers , few other forums, responses, , people aren’t knowledgable guys.
anyway, i’m student–english major, although graphic/web design major, how justified macbook pro (i have gotten either way. haha.)
anyway, i’ve found i’m not utilizing portability of macbook pro. none of professors allow bring computers class, it’s left desk 10 times since i’ve had it. higher end 15” model 2011 (only difference between , current 1 video card.)
i’ve found willing pay me $1900 macbook. if went through this, i’d use money (and bit of tax return) imac , ipad 3 (whenever comes out.) way, i’d have power , screen size of desktop , portability of ipad whenever needed it.
couple of questions:
1. should 21.5” or 27”? (i plan on waiting new imac, since don’t know specs, we’ll assume don’t change.) little photo , video editing nothing serious. know i’d prefer 27” screen size , high resolution, performance boost worth it? i’d playing starcraft ii, sims 3, portal 2, , saints row iii, , cool have on “high/ultra” graphics settings.
2. if got 21”, i’m sure i’d go higher end one, if got 27”, should go lower or higher end?

i think combo (imac ipad) brilliant, university student.
recommendation wait ipad 3, imho it's new specs signifcantly improve performance. also, advice largest hd on ipad, fills quick.
imac, go refurbished route , opt big screen , best video card can manage. aftermarket ram (crucial excellent) upgrade there. don't think refresh significant typical user (myself included), , can maximize bang buck going refurb. same warranty, , can applecare well.
