first of all, not huge data drainage others users experience iphone or due at&t. searched answers everywhere couldn't find any. oh , way, native language not english apologize me mistakes.
after using iphone few months, battery began drain rapidly (from 100% 0% in 8 hours without usage). happened week before ios 5.1 being released, , went normal when installed 5.1
now, approximately month later, of sudden, problem again! started moment synced iphone through wifi imac (used 'synchronize'-button in itunes). searching cause, noticed (thanks data-monitoring app carrier) iphone continuously connects cellular networks. every 1 5 minutes connects , consumes +/- 7 kbs of data (can 25kb tops when last connection little longer ago). ok found out why battery being drained, need solve problem.
found wifi sync drain data searching computer again. thought: "that's it!" since started moment synced again wifi. but... turning wifi sync off didn't solved it! what's more bizarre: iphone connected wifi-network, drains data using cellular network! why uses edge when can use wifi-network? , more importantly: doing anyway??
what i've tried:
- turned apps off (bring menu , pressed red circle minus)
- turning siri off
- turning wifi sync off
- set dns wifi network 8.8.8.8
- a full restore of iphone, restored using backup
- a full restore of iphone, new phone (no backup)
none of helped. full restore helped, problem returned not later.
some preferences i've set:
- bluetooth off
- "diagnostics & usage" "don't send"
- email set retrieve 'manual' (not push, not fetch)
- icloud on, "use cellular data" turned off
- "use cellular data" app store turned off
- home sharing turned off
- wifi sync on (turning off didn't solve problem, see above)
- siri on (turning off didn't solve problem, see above)
- "location services" on "compass calibration" , apps
must software-related, since problem wasn't there (had 3 months before happened first time) , went away ios 5.1. returned after sync executed imac.
