Help - Time Machine, Data Rescue 3, and no direction home

hi, reading/helping. i've been looking while find solution particular issues, haven't come across similar one:

1) how can convert "inprogress" tm backup useable full backup, if has complete backups under last, partial one? (or past "inprogress" part?)

2) how can combine or integrate scans dr3 [with/without tm data] recreate lost drive?

details:
few months ago performing time machine backup of macbook hd , noticed running extremely slow. ran error stopped backup. make long story short (and skip many embarrassing bits), concluded problem backup g-drive, getting old , had not been reformatted in ages.

erased g-drive tm volume in disk utility (using "don't erase data" setting), thinking start anew whole, fresh backup. started , got same error @ same point.

can guess punchline? that's right - g-drive fine. mb hd failing. (@#%^&-ing seagate... thing less year old!) tried backing onto wd drive , recovered half of data before "ticking" sound started , knew mb hd goner. drivesavers put fork in it. bummed since thought lost hd data , tm data.

got nerve try recovery. have data rescue 3, began scanning both backups recoverable files, both "erased" , present ones on g-drive , regular ones on wd. have amount of files between them, have no idea data.

troublesome part data scattered between folders in tm "inprogress" file, , in different scans performed dr3. tm folders have access don't indicate can find/recreate drive best useable state. [see attachment.] ideas go here?

again if read through this. :)

attached files:

another thing - dr3 did deep scan came mind-numbing number of files projects fill 3.6 tb of space. 250gb drive....

have free 3.6tb? @ moment don't.

strategies limiting selected files without leaving out essentials? , in particular order? hoping re-create hd on partition, if @ possible.

thx
