eMac - Zalman Fanmate 2 installed

as final mod emac, installed zalman fanmate 2 make computer little less loud.

found instructions fanmate version 2, knew small device needs rewired, , male/female connectors needs swapped.

honestly, did not start mod, until confident, work (the emac belongs parents).

found 2 instructions same wire structure , success stories, confident enough start. :)

a german mac site, user barcode

(i registered on german site see pictures on site)

had rewire instructions, started adventure in soldering land, attached plugs (i had shave them bit fit), organised cables of fanmate2, actual device outside of computer, assembled emac, powerd up, , prayed.

started usual, same high noise of fan (i turned fanmate2 max previously). once went desktop, started adjust power on fanmate... and... yes, fan started run lower speed, hence noise lower. nice!

played bit different levels, made emac virtually silent in lowest position of fanmate2.

settled in lower level, still audible noise, taking account hot summer still come.

since emac has hard drive temp sensor, 1 can monitor, looks settled in between 30-40 c.

emac perfect machine. not have high noise fan, has 1.25 ghz g4 cpu, 2 gb memory, new dvd burner, , fresh leopard installed.

ready handed parents, use - sure - more years.

- attached 2 pictures of wires - please disregard poor job on soldering :)
